MS Ramaiah College of Arts, Science and Commerce celebrated their festival ‘Xtacy 2k16’ in a grand manner recently. The theme of the first day being ‘Traditional’, the campus was filled with girls dressed in saris and boys in ‘dhotis’.

The festival kicked of with off-stage events like ‘rangoli’, flower arrangement, fireless cooking and ‘mehendi’ competitions. The students left no stone unturned in showcasing their creative side. Each of these events saw more than 40 students taking part.

Of the on-stage events, the solo dance competition was judged by Jason Denmark, choreographer, disc jockey and zumba fitness instructor. The graceful dancers left their mark with their amazing moves and expressions.

The group singing and ‘Mad Ads’ competitions too generated much excitement. Incredible themes were on display at the fashion show competition. Kishore Chikkaiah, model and actor, and his team judged the fashion show.

The theme for day two was ‘Retro’, which took one back to the 20th century. The students recreated it in style. The theme for the third day was ‘Colour Code’ and each department was assigned a particular colour to be worn on their nails. The photography competition also left the students excited and they gave it their best shot.

The crowd was on pins and needles waiting for the final event — the group dance. It was judged by BDMSP Kiran, choreographer, and  Rajesh, dancer and choreographer. The judges also impressed the audience with their moves. The prizes were given away on the fourth day.

There was also a little surprise element for the audience as the cast of ‘Hombanna’ arrived to give away the prizes. The lead actor of the film, Dhananjay, spoke about the movie which revolved around a farmer.

During the fest, there was also a donation box kept for the students to contribute. On the final day, it was handed over to Shankar who runs an orphanage named ‘Rakshana’.  As the prizes were distributed and vote of thanks was delivered, curtains fell on the festival.
