A 60-year-old retired police officer was run over by a train while he was crossing railway tracks near Jawahar Circle locality in the city on Monday morning.

Jaipur: A 60-year-old retired police officer was run over by a train while he was crossing railway tracks near Jawahar Circle locality in the city on Monday morning. Though the man was living in a nearby locality in Model Town area, how he came to the railway tracks is a mystery. However, police maintained that as a regular morning walker he could be using the railway tracks regularly.
He was father of district superintendent of police, Banswara.
The incident took place in the morning, the deceased was identified as Vishal Sharma, a retired additional SP of police. His son Anand Sharma is superintendent of police, Banswara. "His mutilated body was spotted by the people at 6 am and people immediately called the police. The body was sent for post-mortem," said a senior police officer.
Sharma had retired from the service five months ago and had been living with his younger son in Model Town area of the city.
