Hyderabad: A function was held at Ahmed Ashraf Memorial Unani Hospital at Jalpally, Pahadishareef to pay tribute to the services of Hakeem Ahmed Ashraf for the development of Unani medicine.
Dr. Meer Yousuf Ali, Addl. Director of AYUSH told that Hyderabad is proud that Hakeem like Ahmed Ashraf was born here. Padma Shri Hakeem Syed Zillur Rahman, President, Ibn-e-Seena Academy, Aligarh and member of Aligarh Muslim University Court told that he had very good relations with Hakeem Ahmed Ashraf. He congratulated his son Hakeem Abul Hasan Ashraf and his daughter-in-law, Dr. Afshan Jabeen for instituting awards to commemorate his memory.
Dr. Syed Asad Pasha, former Dy. Advisor, Unani, Ministry of Health, Govt. of India told that Hakeem Ahmed Ashraf was a very active physician. He did a lot of service to Unani Medicine through All India Unani Tibbi Conference and Tibb-e-Nabavi Foundation.
Life time achievement awards were given to Hakeem Syed Zillur Rahman and Hakeem Mohammed Khalid Siddiqui. Global awards was given to Hakeem Munawar Husain whereas national award were given to Dr. Nasreen Jahan, Prof. Kaleemullah Khan, Dr. M.A. Wajid and Dr. Ashraq Ahmed. Dr. Parveen Sultana, Dr. Azeem Ahmed Sayeed, Dr. M.A. Majid, Dr. Ahmed Akbaruddin, Dr. Rahman Khan, Dr. Mohammed Ismail and Dr. Siraj were given State awards. Hakeem Abul Hasan Ashraf conducted the meeting.
