Met warning: Widespread rain in Indore division likely

INDORE: More than half of Indore division is likely to receive widespread rainfall, according to forecast of Met department,
"The entire state will get good spell of rainfall till August 26," said Anupam Kashyapi, Met director.
Indore received 0.2mm rainfall on Monday till 5.30pm. While the maximum temperature rose to 26.2 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature was recorded as 21.7 degree Celsius.
After heavy to very heavy rainfall alert by Met department on Sunday, various parts of Mandsaur district received 75mm rainfall on Monday.
The heavy rainfall in Mandsaur district in the last three days also resulted in the overflowing of Gandhi Sagar river. "Four gates of the Gandhi Sagar dam were opened by water resource department on Monday morning as water level rose to 1,309 feet and the inflow of water was said to be 1,43,000," said PK Gupta, executive engineer, water resources department.
He also said that the remaining gates will be open after the met department forecast on Monday evening. However, rainfall affect did not only restrict to Mandsaur but also reached Ujjain as a bus carrying 15 passengers overturned while crossing a river in Mokdi village which was overflowing river. The passengers were somehow saved by the villagers while the driver ran away from the spot.
Even the Chambal river in Nagda has been overflowing after the constant rainfall from the past three days.
According to the weathermen, Agar district along with various parts of the state has been warned for very heavy rainfall. While an alert has been issued for areas like Ratlam, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Ujjain, Jhabua.
