A seven-year-old girl was kidnapped and gangraped by three men, identified as Bhure, Amir and Bhim Sen, in East Delhi’s Yamuna Khadar area late on Sunday night.

The girl, who was brutalised for over an hour in a forested area near her home, suffered serious and multiple injuries to her private parts. She was initially rushed to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital, but was later referred to AIIMS where she continues to remain in a serious state.

Confirming the crime, Rishi Pal, DCP (East) said all the three accused, between 19 and 21 years, have been arrested. “Two of the arrested men are neighbours of the victim and the third is their friend,” said Mr Pal.

The girl lives with her parents in agricultural fields of Yamuna Khadar that falls under the jurisdiction of the Mandawali police station. Her parents work in the nearby fields.

Like most other residents of the locality, the victim and her family sleep in open outside their huts to beat the summer heat. She and her parents were in deep sleep when the three men approached her at 11 pm. They allegedly gagged her and carried her into a forested area, not very far from her home.
