Muktsar, August 22
AAP activists of Fatehpur Manian and some adjoining villages today lodged a protest opposite the Lambi police station alleging that some SAD activists had thrashed their two activists on August 8, but the police was not taking any action against them.
The protesters said victims Jagsir Singh and his father Nikku Ram, both residents of Fatehpur Manian village, had even some evidences against the accused, but the police was not acting in this case. “Before thrashing them, a SAD activist had even threatened the father-son duo over the phone and they have an audio recording of it,” claimed the protesters.
Meanwhile, Baljinder Kaur, president, AAP’s state women wing president, too addressed the protesters.
They further claimed that those thrashed were clicking pictures of the thin attendance during the state government’s publicity van showing “Char Sahibzade” movie in the village. They had earlier too lodged a similar protest in this regard.
Gurpreet Singh, SHO of the Lambi police station, said, “We have recorded the statement of both parties and verifying the facts. A case will be registered if the charges are proved true in the preliminary investigations.”
