Ambala, August 22

BJP leaders and activists led by Ambala Lok Sabha MP Rattan Lal Kataria today took out a Tiranga yatra here today.

Kataria said: “We are living in independent India because of the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters. The motive of the yatra was to create awareness in this regard. The younger generation must learn from the lives of martyrs and come forward to serve the nation. This yatra will strengthen the sense of patriotism amongst the youth.”

He was accompanied by BJP state vice-president Banto Kataria, state spokesman Dr Sanjay Sharma and BJP district chief Jagmohan Lal. The yatra covered different villages, including Materi Shenkha, Sonta, Shekhopura, Naggal and Garnala of the Ambala city constituency.

Meanwhile, improper use of the national flag was observed during the yatra. There were extra small strips (green strip on the edge of saffron strip similarly saffron strip on the edge of green strip) on the edge of the some flags and the same were used on the vehicle on which the MP was leading.

When it was pointed out, MP Rattan Lal Kataria admitted the mistake and said, “The flags were prepared on a large scale and extra strips on the edges were due to wrong cutting. It is a mistake and such things should have been taken care of.” Later, the flags were changed.
