Solve written test for a trip to Japan: Super 30 founder
Patna: Students of Classes X, XI and XII, who wish to enjoy a scientific tour of Japan, can do so by taking part in a solve and win written test to be organized by Super 30 on August 28.
“As part of the Sakura Science Plan (SSP), at least five students will be selected through a written test and sent to Japan where they will learn and see scientific innovations in the company of experts for a week.
The Japan government will bear the expenses of the visit,” Super 30 founder Anand Kumar said in a press release on Monday. The students can get the application forms from the Ramanujan School of Mathematics in Kumhrar.
Conference: Supreme Court’s former judge Gyan Sudha Mishra on Monday said women were the backbone of a civilized society and needed to be economically dependent. “Different amendments have given women equal rights,” she said while speaking as the chief guest at a two-day UGC sponsored national conference organized by J D Women’s College on ‘Syntax, Vocabulary and Interpretation of Women’s Laws: Analysis and Perspectives’ on Monday.

Exhibition at PWC: At least 40 pharmacologically beneficial plants were displayed at an exhibition of medical plants by botany department students of Patna Women’s College on Monday. The event was inaugurated by college principal Sr M Jessie and mostly comprised plants which were used in traditional medications and home remedies for treatment of common ailments.
Book release: Patna University (PU) VC Y C Simhadri released the ‘Journal of economic development, Patna University’ published by the economics department on Monday. “The importance of economics has increased in a globalized world. The journal will help in formulating financial policies that can help in development of all sections of the society,” he said. The department’s website was also launched on the occasion.

DAV: The DAV Public School-Walmi campus resounded with Vedic mantras as the school marked Ved Prachar and Sanskrit week with a ‘yajna’ on Monday. “Vedas are a constant source of inspiration and teaches us to build our character. It also spreads the message of peaceful coexistence and service to people and mankind,” DAV Public School’s Patna zone I director Indrajeet Rai said on the occasion.
Practice teaching begins: The practice teaching of BEd trainees of St Xavier’s College of Education (SXCE) commenced from August 19 and will continue for 16 weeks at various city schools. During the practice teaching and internship, the institute’s faculty members will be assisting the trainees while college principal Fr Thomas Perumalil will take feedback from the respective schools.
