As Yogeshwar Krishna states in the Bhagwad Gita, ‘I am Peepal among the trees.’

Actually trees are mahayogis. As an evolved human spreads divine aura and makes people around him joyful and peaceful, the same is with trees. The moment it sprouts from earth, it spreads its arms – branches – towards the sky to receive all the energies, head held high to get connected to universal life force for growth but rooted well on the earth. It flows with the flow of natural forces, making itself stronger, taller and beautiful.

It always gives and gives just like Nature, teaches and reminds us that giving is law of Nature and this must be imbibed by human, for making atmosphere pleasant and congenial for growth. Actually, tree is a guru and reflection of Supreme Provider. It is the provider of the bounties which are required for the survival of the human in healthy and natural way.

That is why a tree is never ugly; it reflects what it is to be alive, without thrusting and enforcing anything or being a doer. It is alive till the last moment; and even when it perishes, every part of the tree is of great value. There is no human habitat which does not have something made out of a tree or its produce. It imparts manure to the earth and its roots provide shelter to creatures or insects which live underground and nourish the soil. No matter how much a human plucks its leaves, scratches its bark, it never retaliates. It continues to be patient and does its karm provided by Nature.

Trees are source of livelihood to so many. So many people are involved in planting and nurturing of orchards and farm lands, taking care of the creepers, fruits and vegetables, transporting and selling them. This inspires us to serve Nature, which in turn will enhance the whole environment. Magnificent is the life of trees that spread life force to all, giving shade to the tired souls and fruits to everyone, irrespective of caste, creed…and provide restful abode to birds. Trees are a great source of inspiration to writers, poets, philosophers and visionaries. Wisdom dawns on those who do intense sadhana and dhyan under densely leafed old trees.

Buddha attained enlightenment and became Bodhisattva under the natural canopy of the Bodhi tree.

Our planet is the greatest gift of Supreme to mankind and trees are the most beautiful and sensuous poetic expression of Supreme intelligence.Trees are the embodiment of sensitivity also. The feel one touches it or nurture it, tree reflects that in its blossoming or flourishing, resurrecting the significance of feel.

Those who plant trees in faraway places bring salvation to ancestors and future generation, according to the Shiv Puran. The one who plants tulsi van by igniting Vishnu, gets fruits of performing 100 yajnas, states the Padma Puran.

There is a shloka in Indic scriptures: Chayaam annyasya kuruvanti tishthanti swayam aattappey phalyanteappi prarthay vrikshaha satpurushaiva -- it means, the tree provides shade while standing in the sun, bearing fruits for the benefit of others, like real virtuous Sat Purusha. Expect nothing from others like a true yogi and derive energy from eternal source. Their mission is welfare and nourishment for all, providing shelter and nutrients to even those who pelt stones at them, giving truly a great message of unconditional love by being most silent and graceful spokespersons of nature. Let us all realise and get enlightened by the purest wisdom of a Tree that plays the divine music of harmony and peace on the rustling of leaves, touching the souls and calling softly to be in perfect sync with nature and spread love and light all around.Be in reverence of the tree and nurture it.
