Railway ticket counters in Bokaro town to ease station rush
Bokaro: The Adra Railway Division under South Eastern Railway (SER) is installing three Yatri Ticket Suvidha Kendras (YTSK) so that passengers can get tickets easily without waiting in the queue for hours.
The move also aims to bring down rush at the railway reservation counters here.
Although the YTSK is a private entity, but it is authorized to sell reserved and unreserved railway tickets. There are 90 stations under the Adra division, but after assessing the requirement, railways has planned to open the three YTSK at Bokaro.

"The first YTSK has been opened in Nayamoad last week while another two counters will be opened at Sector-IV and Chas. Both will be opened by September," said Bhaskar, senior divisional commercial manager, Adra.
Unlike other cities, Bokaro railway station is in the outskirt, 14 km from the district headquarter.
The railway is running two railway counters near Ram Mandir and Chas to cater to about 5.5 lakh people. The opening of YTSK in the town will definitely offload the rush from these reservation counters, said Bhaskar.
Though many passengers these days prefer booking their tickets online, the railways has opened YTSK to expand the facilities for both reserved and unreserved tickets.
YTSK are opened under public-private-partnership (PPP) mode. "The additional charges at YTSK counters will be Rs 30 per passenger for the sleeper classes and Rs 40 per passenger for all other classes," said Bhaskar.
Bhaskar also said that the Tatkal tickets can also be booked at YTSK, but its booking will start half an hour later than the railway counters. The working hours of YTSK will be from 8.30 am to 10 pm.
