Umiya Mata trust AGM turns violent
PALANPUR: Pandemonium broke out at the annual general meeting of Umiya Mata Temple trust in Unjha town on Sunday after a section of Patidars demanded the resignation of trust's chairman Narayan Lallu Patel. The protestors turned violent and started throwing chairs as the heated discussion took an ugly turn, which ultimately resulted in the meeting ending abruptly.

Patel, who is also the sitting BJP MLA from Unjha, has been the chairman of the temple trust for the last five years.
Bhavesh Patel, a local Patidar leader, told TOI: "I have submitted in writing that one man cannot hold two posts. As chairman of the temple trust, Patel must support the Patidar reservation agitation. Either he must quit as the chairman or resign as an MLA.
