Dalai Lama for adopting vegetarian diet together with giving up alcohol

LEH, Aug 21: Dalai Lama’s four-day religious sermon in Leh concluded today with special emphasis upon Buddhists for adopting vegetarian diet for the sake of themselves and avoid consuming alcohol keeping in mind its deep rooted problems in every sphere of life.  He also urged upon the people to be sincere and compassionate human being for universal peace and promotion of brotherhood.
During the four days teachings, Dalai Lama gave teachings on Pragya Paramitta Hirdya, Boddhi Chitta Avataranama and Panchen Chudoon. On the final day today, the Dalai Lama imparted long life empowerment of Avalokiteshvara (Chenrazig ki Tsewang). Approximately 40 thousand devotees attended the congregation every day.
After presenting the long life offering ceremony to Dalai Lama, the president LBA, Tsewang Thinles on behalf of the entire people of Ladakh, expressed high gratitude to His Holiness for visiting Ladakh and showering his blessings and also requested Dalai Lama to visit Ladakh again and again in the future also in order to fulfill the religious aspirations of people of Ladakh.
Prominent personalities, who attended the teaching session, include the Rinpocheys headed by His Holiness Thee Rinpochey, CEC, Dr. Dawa Lonpo, MP Thupstan Chhewang, members of LAHDC, politicians, social heads, monks and nuns.
It is worth mentioning that Ladakh Buddhist Association proficiently and systemically organized this massively crowded ceremony in every terms, and in the same way, the Leh police efficiently managed the vehicular traffic movement.
