Young and inspiring santoor player Abhay Sapori, a disciple and son of Padmasri Pt. Bhajan Sapori, performed at the National Institute of Visually Handicapped (NIVH) here today. Sapori is on a Spicmacay sponsored circuit tour in schools, colleges and training academies of Dehradun, Haridwar and Roorkee.
Abhay started with ameditative alap in raga Natabhairav. The meditative alap was followed by three compositions. The first composition in Ektal ‘Ab to mori man le’ and ‘Karam Karo Data ‘ in teental were in Madhya laya. He also played a composition in Dhrut laya teental.
Abhay was accompanied by Sachin Sharma on tabla.
