Not Ashutosh Gowariker, someone else cut the trailer of ‘Mohenjo Daro’
Any film, small or big, good or bad, hit or flop, is a director’s film, or rather, that’s how it is supposed to be and hence, the captain of the ship should ideally have the right and the final say in deciding on how the first look and the trailer of the film would look like. After all, every film is the director’s baby and vision and who better the director himself to know what the film is all about. However, Ashutosh Gowariker was an exception to this rule. Sadly, the director didn’t get to design the first trailer of his latest release ‘Mohenjo Daro’ and what happened to the film is for all of us to see. The first trailer sadly got a lot of flak and brickbats and the audience wasn’t impressed with the trailer of this period drama. According to reports, co-producers UTV Motion Pictures had given the responsibility of cutting the trailer to Trigger Happy Entertainment, and that obviously left Gowariker upset and fuming. After all, the film was his vision and the director understandably wanted to cut the final first trailer of the film to ensure it appeals to the audience and becomes the talking point for all the right reasons. Instead, Gowariker was reportedly asked by UTV to fully concentrate on the post production of the film rather than bothering much about the trailer. In the past, Trigger Happy Entertainment has designed trailers for celluloid disasters like ‘Humshakals’, ‘Ekkees Topon Ki Salaami’ and ‘Kuch Kuch Locha Hai’ and super hit films like ‘PK’, ‘Kick’ and Badlapur’.
