I'm sporting ' toned physique for somberi
Praveen Kumar, who played the lead in the rural sci-fi film Appuchi Gramam, is now acting as the hero in Somberi, a comedy thriller. The actor has undergone a physical transformation for this role. 'After Appuchi Gramam, people started seeing me as someone who could be apt only for village-set films, and I got offers to do similar characters. But my look in that film is not my natural look.
I'm a city-based youngster, and I decided that it is only by undergoing a striking physical transformation that I can make them understand. So, for this film, I decided to sport a toned physique,' says the actor, who spent two months in the gym to get his present look.
Talking about the film, he says that the story happens over the course of one night. 'I play a guy who goes after his girlfriend to save her, but his friends, played by Sentrayan and Ramdas (Munishkanth of Mundasupatti), direct him the wrong way,' elaborates the actor. Roopika, a Sandalwood actress, plays the heroine. 'We have completed shooting the talkie portions, and will be canning the songs soon. It is in these songs that I will be seen in my beefed-up look,' adds Praveen.
