ICccR & HRM organizes ‘Initiation Ceremony’ for MBA-IB students

JAMMU, Aug 19: The International Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR & HRM), University of Jammu, today organized the ‘Initiation Ceremony’ for the newly recruited batch of MBA-International Business (MBA-IB) students, Session 2016-18.
Professor R D Sharma, JU Vice Chancellor, was the chief guest on the occasion while Raj K Nehru, Director, HARTRON, Governing Council Member for Global Village Foundation & NASSCOM Sector Skills Council and Founder Member, UTSAV Foundation was the invited corporate guest.
The Vice Chancellor acquainted the students about several facilities that are available for them at the Campus in general and ICccR &HRM in particular. He referred to the students as the brand ambassadors of the University and reflected that it was extremely important for the students to inculcate discipline, hard work, professionalism and moral values to be successful in all quarters of life.
Raj K Nehru, delivered an inspirational talk on ‘Leadership Differentiator: How India Inspires the World’. He deliberated upon the leadership lessons that draw upon the institutionalized system of pluralism practiced in our nation. He corroborated that leadership must be inclusive of the institutional democratic process, equality and fairness. “Diversity as a holistic opportunity for progression and has to be the biggest agenda for leadership effectiveness”, he added. He further emphasizes the courage and determination as the pre-requisites to success. Quoting several examples from the corporate world and sharing practical experiences, Raj K Nehru, encouraged the students to adopt an integrated approach for self development.
Prof. Poonam Dhawan, Dean Academic Affairs, Prof Jigar Mohammad, Dean Research Studies and Prof Satnam Kour, Dean Students Welfare, JU, highlighted the significance of living in diversity and internationalization.
Earlier, Prof Neelu Rohmetra, Director, ICccR & HRM, narrated the Code of Conduct to be followed by the students and emphasized on building those competencies and skills amongst themselves that nurture in shaping their future comprehensively. “The objective of any business education is to serve the community needs and the society at large; all management training thus has to be in this direction”, Prof Rohmetra said.
The Initiation ceremony also marked the culmination of the week-long celebrations of the Independence Festival at ICccR & HRM under the theme of ‘Azadi 70- Yaad Karo Kurbani’.
Dr Pallvi Arora coordinated the entire function while the senior batch of MBA (IB) students acted as the stage host.
