Brawl in Bavla over love affair; 2 arrested for firing in air

AHMEDABAD: A team of Bavla police arrested a father-son duo for firing in the air, after after a scuffle between two neighbouring families over a love affair turned serious on Wednesday night.
Bavla police said Salim Khan Pathan, a resident of Noor Mohammad Society, had approached the residence of Ismail Khan Pathan in the same society at 9.30 pm. Salim's son Moin had allegedly developed a romantic relationship with Ismail Khan's granddaughter.Ismail's son Javed had thrashed Moin recently over the issue. They had gone to make peace, but it turned into a fight.
"According to the complaint, Javed brought a licensed revolver during the scuffle and fired a round in the air. We have registered a case of attempt to murder and assault apart from booking him for violation of Arms Act. Further questioning is on," said an investigator.
