The municipal corporation organized a street play (nukkad natak) on Wednesday evening to create awareness on cleanliness.The street play was organized on Pakhowal Road bridge alongside Sidhwan Canal.

LUDHIANA: The municipal corporation organized a street play (nukkad natak) on Wednesday evening to create awareness on cleanliness. The street play was organized on Pakhowal Road bridge alongside Sidhwan Canal.
A message to save Sidhwan Canal was also spread through this play. Mayor Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria was the chief guest at the event.
MC started this drive from the ward of councillor Tanvir Dhaliwal who has been supporting the cause of saving Sidhwan Canal for long.

Through their street play, the actors advised people not to throw garbage on roads and also that open defecation and spitting must be avoided.
The mayor asked people to change their mindset and support the municipal corporation in its environment-friendly activities.
Additional commissioner Surabhi Malik said they would organize such plays at several locations, preferably slum areas and would aim to educate more and more people. She said that public support would help in making the city cleaner.
