Nephew of SP leader murdered in Aligarh
Aligarh: SP leader Mohammad Jamil's nephew Adil Khan, 21, a student, died after he was stabbed and shot in front of multiple eye-witnesses at the bustling locality of Kela Nagar in Dodhpur. According to the police, three men arrived on a bike and attacked Adil Khan and his friend Faheem Chaudhury.
While Khan was brought dead to JN Medical Hospital, Chaudhury has sustained severe injuries.
Ahtesham Ahmad, casualty medical officer at JN Medical told TOI, "Khan's body was sent to the mortuary, while Chaudhury’s chances of survival are slim."
As soon as the incident took place the market was shut and police force swung to action taking control of the situation, as supporters of SP allegedly started vandalising shops. A crowd gathered at the Civil Line police station and at the hospital after the death of a young boy.
Senior superintendent of police (SSP) of Aligarh Love Kumar said, "The incident took place between 7:30 and 8:00 pm and the name of Sameer Katrala is coming up. We are checking his criminal record as it is being alleged that he has one. We have put together a force of three police stations to nab him. There can be an old enmity between the victim and Katrala. It will be investigated."
At the time of filing of the report, no complaint had been registered at Civil Lines police station by the family of the victim.
