TORONTO, Aug. 18 (UPI) -- The Toronto Zoo continued its trend of naming its female zebras after the leading ladies of Star Wars by introducing the newborn filly "Rey."

The zoo shared photos of the nearly month-old Grevy's zebra whose "strong and confident" personality matches the Force Awakens protagonist with whom she shares a name.

"This little filly began to walk ten minutes after she was born, which is an important milestone in her development," the zoo wrote. "Both mom and filly are doing well and she is already starting to develop her own strong and confident personality."

In 2014 Rey's mother Tori gave birth to her first filly Leia, named after the princess who was introduced in the first Star Wars film.

The Grevy's zebra, the largest of the three species of zebra, is listed as endangered on the International Union for Conservation of Nature Red List of Threatened Species as there are only approximately 2,000 left in the wild.
