Tennessee-based sustainable tile company, Crossville in collaboration with The Common Thread For The Cure Foundation, recently held their biennial scarf design competition that supports members of the design community who are facing breast cancer. As a longstanding sponsor, Crossville—along with other design brands—has embraced the foundation’s core mission to aid struggling colleagues and their families to address real needs in their fight against the disease.

This year’s competition churned out a People’s Choice winner, and a Judges’ Choice winner chosen by a nationwide panel of design professionals including Kathy Sandler of Nashville, Allan Dallatorre of Los Angeles, Lisa Mende of Charlotte, and Linda Holt of Boston. “We received lots of entries this year, so it’s really exciting to see how the voting turned out,” Crossville director of brand marketing Robin Rhea says.

“We appreciate how our network of distributors and the interior design and tile industry communities rallied to show their creativity in support of this great cause.”

Love’s Alchemy by Kerry Steele of Charleston, SC won the Judges’ Choice award while Chicago-based Beatriz Lopez’s Yin & Yang creation earned the top spot in the People’s Choice category. Both winning scarf designs will be produced and distributed through Crossville in September—just in time to bring attention to the fight against breast cancer within the design community for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
