At a time when Kashmir is facing a medical emergency, Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) Wednesday called for return of Non-Resident Kashmiri (NRK) doctors who are working in foreign countries.' With number of sick and wounded mounting each passing day,President DAK Dr Nisar-ul-Hassan in a statement to CNS said that NRK doctors must return in this hour of medical crisis.  There are many highly qualified Kashmiri doctors working outside and they are best in the world. They should come back to their roots at this time of crisis when their services are needed most. They have an obligation to their people who are in agony and pain. It is not only their responsibility, but their duty.In the ongoing civil unrest, thousands of people have been injured and many lost their lives. Patients died in transit because of lack of trauma and emergency care specialists in peripheries.  Lot of public money was spent on these doctors so that they serve their people. It took decades of hard work and training to create these doctors so that people get quality care within the state. These doctors who are working overseas owe a debt to the people of state.“We need them and need them now. The best way for them to contribute is to come back to their nests and treat their people and save them,” he said. (CNS)
