The Visakhapatnam Unit of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence had nabbed Saddam at the Visakhapatnam Railway Station on September 21 last year and seized FICN worth Rs 5,01,500 from him.
Guwahati: The Hyderabad branch of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) filed a chargesheet against two youths from Barpeta district for smuggling high quality fake Indian currency notes (FICN) from Bangladesh and circulating them in India.
The chargesheets names Saddam Hossain (21), son of Kafiluddin and resident of Barpeta district's Manikpur village, and his relative Amirul Hoque (24) son of Akbar Ali and resident of Goherpam village near Palhaji Bazar, also in Barpeta district.

They have been charged under sections 489N and 489C of IPC and sections 16, 18 and 20 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 for procuring high quality FICN for trafficking and circulation, which amounts to a terrorist act and conspiracy to damage the economic security and the monetary stability of the country.
The Visakhapatnam Unit of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence had nabbed Saddam at the Visakhapatnam Railway Station on September 21 last year and seized FICN worth Rs 5,01,500 from him. He was travelling on the Guwahati-Bangalore Superfast Express. Upon interrogation, he revealed that the notes were being smuggled from Bangladesh and he was supposed to deliver it to one Rostam alias Hasmat in Bengaluru.
