Smoke, dust and dug-up road

August 17, 2016 08:03 am | Updated 08:03 am IST

The road from Krishna-Kanth Park to the Kalyan Nagar Junction near JJ Hospital has been dug up and left unattended since January. For the past eight months not only do the commuters have to face a bumpy potholed road, but the amount of dust that is raised is phenomenal.

Families going to the park for fresh air come out coughing. Surely roads need to be dug up for some work, but not re-laying it for months is complete callousness! Please for Gods sake do something!

Bad roads

The Tarnaka to Uppal road is in a very bad shape and needs immediate repair. The road is uneven and with the GHMC’s emergency pot filling, now there are speed breakers too on the road. Like it has done between Tarnaka to Mettiguda, I request the GHMC to re-carpet the road from Tranaka to Uppal junction.

Dumps overflowing

Despite the GHMC contract workers collecting garbage from households and dumping in the pick-up van that follow, there are many dumpsters found before residential complexes in the lanes and by-lanes of New Bhoiguda overflowing with garbage with stray dogs grazing on the trash in full view of public. When the matter was brought to the GHMC area supervisor to remove the dumpster, he expressed his inability. His supervisor too did not take any action. Since it is posing a serious health hazard to the residents, an appeal is once again made to the GHMC to remove the dumpsters.
