/Agencies -GUJRANWALA/RY KHAN/JHANG/SIALKOT/KASUR-Ten persons including five children, two of them siblings, were killed in various incidents of enmity and other incidents occurred separately on Tuesday.
According to rescue sources, a youth and his aunt were crushed to death by a train here at Morr Emanabad, Gujranwala on Tuesday. The rescuers informed that 20-year-old Ramzan along with his aunt Haneefa was going on a motorcycle. He was crossing the railways track near Morr Emanbad, when a speeding train hit the bike. Resultantly, both Ramzan and his aunt died on the spot.
In another incident, a man was gunned down by rivals over a property dispute here in Rajkot area. The police informed that there was a dispute over residential plot between Maqbool and Iqbal, both residents of Rajkot. Both the rivals had a quarrel over the issue during which Iqbal opened fire on him, killing him on the spot. The Dhulley Police have registered a case and started investigation.
In Kangni Wala area, a man was shot and critically injured over resistance by robbers. The police said that the incident occurred when Salman was on the way back home after drawing cash from a bank. In the meanwhile, four robbers intercepted him and tried to snatch the cash, but Salman put up resistance. At which the robbers opened fire on him and fled away. He sustained bullet injuries and was shifted to DHQ Hospital by a Rescue 1122 team.
In RY KHAN, three children were drowned while more than 75 persons were rescued when a boat capsized in Indus River near Jamaldin Wali here on Tuesday.
According to police, the boat with 80 passengers on board, was going from Rojhan to Bangla Acha. The boat capsized apparently due to overloading, the police suspected.
The dead bodies of the three children were recovered by the rescue team and sent to hospital.
In Jhang, two minor siblings - seven-year-old Naeem and three-year-old Emaan Fatima died of electrocution in their house near railway crossing here on Tuesday.
According to police, the incident took place in Jalalabad area when the children tried to open an iron door but sustained severe electric shocks as electricity extension wires passed above the gate.
Resultantly both the minor siblings died on the spot.
In Sialkot, a youth identified as Qadeer Naveed, 20, drowned in River Chenab near Bajwat-Sialkot while bathing there.
According to Sialkot DCO Dr Asif Tufail, the divers of Rescue 1122 Sialkot have fished out dead body from the river.
In Kasur, a man was shot dead and two others sustained critical injuries in separate incidents. According to police, a man was shot dead by his friend in Chunian City. The deceased, identified as Amir, was at home when his friend Aftab Maseeh called him and lured him away to a deserted place where he shot him dead. The Chunian City Police have registered a case against the accused while the reason behind Amir’s killing could not be ascertained yet.
In Kanganpur, two persons were shot at and critically injured over enmity. The police said that the accused Mubashar and Jaj had old enmity with Baber Ali. The other day, they opened indiscriminate fire on Baber Ali and his friend Nadeem, leaving them with critical injuries. They were shifted to hospital while the Kanganpur Police registered a case against the accused.
