The issue gathered much heat since the news broke out, as it was the first time ever in Tamil Nadu that people came to know of money being transferred in such huge quantities. The Election Commission on its part stated that they withheld the money as the documents produced by the accompanying officials did not match.

Presently, the case is being handled by CBI after a complaint was raised jointly by DMK MPs TKS Elangovan and RS Bharathi, though State Bank of India officials claimed that the money belonged to them.

The video shows the transporting trucks' registration numbers, and men trying to open the boxes possibly carrying the money.

Bramma also claimed that much of the information he asked for through the RTI, including the truck VPN numbers and the security guard details were not present with the officials.
