KOLKATA: Mohammedan Sporting Club will face the challenge of George Telegraph SC in what will be their fourth match of the Calcutta Football League Premier Division A campaign at the Barasat Stadium on Wednesday.
Mohammedan Sporting Club had started their campaign with a win over Army XI before losing to Tollygunge Agragami in the second match. However, the Mridul Banerjee-coached side bounced back well in the last match against Bhawanipore Club. They will now surely like to keep the winning momentum going.
Mohammedan Sporting Club are currently fifth on the table with six points from three games.
On the other hand, George Telegraph have just one point to their kitty from three encounters. George Telegraph lost their last match 0-4 to Federation Cup champions Mohun Bagan.
Meanwhile, Mohammedan Sporting Club have received a timely boost by the return of wingers Imran Khan and Sheikh Faiaz to the match day squad after having missed the last match owing to injury.
"The previous game against Bhawanipore Club was a tough one. We played some good football but also missed a lot of chances. We need to learn from every game and improve going forward," Mohammedan Sporting Club coach Mridul Banerjee said on the eve of Wednesday's match.
"George Telegraph is a good team, even though they have lost their last match by a big margin but they have played some good football in that game as well so we are not taking them lightly and expecting a tough match."
This match is extremely important for Mohammedan Sporting Club and they would surely not be happy with anything other than full points.
