Business booming for Bristol-based motorhome hire company

A company offering motorhomes for hire to holidaymakers, and offering potential buyers the chance to 'try before they buy', has announced a record start to its first six months of trading.

Launched in November 2015 by Bristol born, Matt Sims, the Motorhome Holiday Company is relocating to The Cattle Market, Winford next month to accommodate its increasing fleet of top of the range motorhomes and VW campervans.  The company was launched with just three motorhomes but due to demand now has 12 luxury motorhomes on its fleet.

Matt is optimistic about further growth over the next 12 months. The success is driven by holidaymakers opting to stay in the UK for staycations and an increasing trend for experience holidays.

He plans to continue to expand and is working closely with the motorhome manufacturer, Adria and its UK dealer base, to develop and deliver a national Try Before You Buy Scheme.

"Customers are telling us that we have some distinctive points of difference compared to our competitors,” said Matt, "Not only are our motorhomes some of the best on the market with on-road values of between £40-70,000, our rental price is transparent and simple, with hire costs starting from £100 per day.  Great customer service is at the heart of everything we do too.

"I love that Bristol has been such an excellence place from which to launch the business. So far more than 75% of bookings have been within a 70 mile catchment area – Bristol and the south west are full of people interested in road trip adventures!  We’ve also seen a new trend of booking last minute with lead times as little as a few days!  A buying trend that is no doubt here to stay."

The company is committed to working with the local community in Bristol and is keen to increase awareness with its predominately female target audience.

Sims concluded, "We have developed strong relationships with local radio stations and are sponsors of the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta that took place 11-14 August. As a proud Bristolian I am keen that we become synonymous with Bristol as gateway to the south west and beyond. Being based much closer to our airport will further increase our reach across Europe and beyond.”

Adria sets out policy for try before buy scheme in conjunction with Motorhome Holiday Company.
