Programmes galore on Independence Day

HUBBALLI: Various educational and social organizations celebrated the 70th Independence Day with patriotic fervour.
At the Bright English Medium School, Kushal Bedare unfurled national flag. 'Hum Hindustani' cultural programme was organized at the Radhakrishna Academy of Fine Arts. Entrepreneur CR Sahu unfurled the national flag at VS Pillay English Medium School.Dr RB Patil Mahesh PU College celebrated I-Day by planting saplings at its premises. Independence Day was celebrated at the Karnataka State Law University, Navanagar, where vice-chancellor Prof CS Patil hoisted the national flag. KLES College of Business Administration celebrated the day by honouring the freedom fighters. Rotary club of Hubli-North felicitated Suresh Horakeri, for his outstanding service in library field, on account of Independence day. Principal BR Patil unfurled the national flag at KLES' SK Arts and HS Kotambri Science Institute.
HDMC commissioner major Siddalingayya Hiremath addressed the gathering at the Government Post-Metric BC Hostel in Ghantikeri. Members of Bedara Kannappa Nayak (Valmiki) Samaj offered garland to the statue of martyr Narayan Doni at Koppikar Road.
