ANANTAPUR: The murder of a man from Pedlaballithanda village of Puttaparthi rural mandal came to light three days after the crime on Monday. The man's wife and her paramour allegedly committed the murder in Bengaluru.
Yugandhar (30) and his wife Manjula Bai of Pedlaballithanda had gone to Bengaluru, four years ago. They worked as construction labourers.
Manjula Bai, who often visited her native village, reportedly developed an illicit relation with Anji Naik from the same village.
Upon learning about the affair, Yugandhar asked the villager elders to speak to his wife. The murder of Yugandhar came to light as his father Jaya Naik got suspicious when his son, in Bengaluru, was not answering the phone. Manjula Bai told him that her husband had gone missing for the last three days.
On Jaya Naik's complaint, police who took up the investigation questioned Manjula Bai who revealed that Yugandhar had been murdered. Manjula Bai along with her paramour Anji Naik reportedly hit Yugandhar with iron rods when he was asleep and killed him. Anji Naik took the help of two of his friends to dispose the body on the city outskirts.
The police which was recovered was sent for post-mortem. Manjula Bai and Anji Naik were taken into custody.
