Child abandoned after gold studs stolen

HYDERABAD: An unidentified woman kidnapped a five-year-old girl at Adikmet on Monday morning and abandoned the child after stealing her gold ear studs at Amberpet in the afternoon.
The incident happened at Vadderabasti in Adikmet area near the Nallakunta police station.
The victim, Harshita, was at a government school near the welfare hostel where her mother works as a cook.As Independence Day celebrations were underway, she was approached by an unidentified woman. "The woman abducted Harshita after offering her a chocolate at 10.30 am. Based on the complaint lodged by family members of the girl, we formed multiple search teams," Nallakunta inspector V Yadgiri Reddy said.
Around 2 pm, the girl was found abandoned on the road at Amberpet. Alerted by locals, police picked up the girl and handed her over to family members.
Police registered a case under kidnapping and robbery charges.
