JOIN USSuperintendent of Police K T Balakrishna said a departmental inquiry would be initiated against the former investigation officer (IO) and Manipal CPI Girish who was investigating billionaire businesssman Bhaskar Shetty’s murder case.
He told Deccan Herald that the action is taken following the charges against the former investigation officer. However, he declined to divulge more details. An internal discussion on the inquiry is being taken up.
The investigation has been speeded up and the team has collected a lot of clues, which cannot be revealed at this juncture. The DNA and forensic science laboratory (FSL) teams have arrived and have inspected the evidences, he added.
The SP said he is continuously supervising the case. The police are almost on the verge of the completing the investigation. The paper work is complete.The packaging and dispatching of the evidence samples to the FSL is completed. The bank accounts of the accused and the transactions data will be verified, he added.
The suspects in the case were taken to the hotel on August 10 at Nitte for lunch as it was inevitable for security and there is no malafide intentions in this, he clarified.
