Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL), has bagged clutch of high value awards that will see a sustained growth in the next couple of years, according to P Sudhakar, Chairman and Managing Director.
The Hyderabad-based, public sector company has won an order for manufacturing and supply of 2.75 lakh units of the Electronic Voting Machines (EVM’s) for the General elections in 2019 from the Election Commission.
The ECIL and the Bengaluru-based, Bharat Electronics Limited are the two public sector units which have been manufacturing and supplying the EVMs for conduct of elections at the national and State level over the last few years.
The electronics major has also bagged an order worth Rs 450 crore for the supply of 130 mm Gun Fuzes to the Indian Army. ECIL has made 30,000 Fuzes per month and recorded an achievement of 1 million Fuzes without failure.
On the other hand the Telecom division won a Rs 270 crore order for upgradation of Max from the Ministry, the CMD said at the flag hoisting ceremony at the company premises today.
