Pokemon Go Players Hooked On Catching Woman’s Crocheted Creatures

Crochet Go!

An artist in Dallas is making Pokemon Go Pokestops a whole lot better.

Nichole Dunigan of Nichole’s Nerdy Knots has always been talented with knitting needles, but didn’t realize what she’d started when she made her first Pokemon ― a toy she’s calling “Crochet Go,” according to NewsFix.

Going to hide these at pokestops today. #crochetgo

When her kids fell in love with her creation, Dunigan went to a park in Lewisville, Texas to hide some for Pokemon Go players and spread the merriment.

She’s been planting the crocheted critters at Pokestops.

Naturally, the IRL Pokemon have been a massive success with kids. One of her first creations was Jigglypuff.

Dunigan has been consistently pumping out more Pokemon and hiding them in the park. She posts the new creations on her Facebook page so searchers know what to look for.

Crochet Go has been so popular, especially since Dunigan began posting the patterns for the Pokemon online. If you’re not in Texas, the only way to snag one of these is to pick up some yarn and get to work.

Dunigan isn’t selling these babies.

“My real passion is in designing patterns and providing them for free so you guys can have fun creating and modifying your own little critters. When I’ve sold in the past it kind of burned me out because it took away from designing,” she explained in a Facebook post.

“At this time I won’t be selling them but I’m sure you know someone crafty who can take advantage of these patterns! I want to focus on pumping as many of these out as I can, especially after receiving this message. This made my heart melt!”

The message she’s referring to was this one from a mom who said her daughter was “so excited” to find a crochet Poliwag in the park and “couldn’t believe it was one she could play with.”

Our advice to those in Texas: Go catch all the Crochet Go! They’re great!
