"President Jokowi stated that he will attend the G20 Summit in Hangzhou," the Indonesian Ambassador to China and Mongol, Soegeng Rahardjo, said here on Monday.
According to Rahardjo, the Indonesian government is still coordinating to hold several bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the summit.
Additionally, Chinas Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Li Baodong, confirmed that President Xi Jinping will inaugurate the summit.
"President Xi Jinping will welcome all state leaders attending the summit. He will inaugurate the G20 Summit and deliver the keynote speech at the opening," he stated.
The deputy minister also informed that Xi Jinping will also hold bilateral meetings with several heads of state.
Baodong added that China was ready to cooperate with other countries to ensure a successful and fruitful meeting to usher in better global economic conditions and develop the civil society.
Among those attending the summit in Hangzhou are US President Barrack Obama, Russian President Vladimir Putin and British Prime Minister Theresa May.
Several international organizations have also confirmed they will be attending the G20 Summit.
The local media in England reported that premier Theresa May and President Putin will hold a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the summit meeting.(*)
