What rapper T.I. knows about that Falcons team

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- Atlanta-based rapper T.I. dropped by Atlanta Falcons' practice for the first time Sunday and dropped some knowledge about the hometown team.

The guy born as Clifford Harris Jr. and also nicknamed "Tip" had an extended conversation with Falcons owner Arthur Blank, signed autographs for fans, and addressed the team before breaking the huddle post-practice.

"I just wanted to check out the team and bring my son out," the rapper said. "I just wanted to see how we're looking for the year."

The Falcons look pretty good, in T.I.'s eyes.

"Man, I think it's going to be better than last year," he said. "I think we kept enough of our key pieces and got some needed editions, especially to the defense. I think if we're able to make adjustments like we did at practice, we'll be all right for the rest of the year."

Sounds like someone who wants to moonlight as a coach.

Of course, T.I. had to talk about star receiver Julio Jones.

"I think Julio's probably one of the greatest wide receivers to ever do it," he said. "But personally, that's my homeboy."

Back in April, T.I. performed at a Hawks-Cavaliers NBA game. Would he do the same for the Falcons?

"Yeah, I'll do anything I can to help the team," he said. "Yeah."

Such a concert might be ideal for the last game at the Georgia Dome Jan. 1 against the rival New Orleans Saints, or perhaps for next year's season opener at the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
