While India celebrates its 70th Independence Day, terror struck Kashmir on Monday. Terrorists have attacked the CRPF unit in the Nowhatta area of Jammu and Kashmir. It is reported that 6 personnels are injured while an exchange of fire is underway.

09.25 am: The area surrounding the CRPF installment has been cordoned off as an exchange of fire continues at the premises.
The attack comes ahead of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti’s address on the occasion of Independence Day at the Bakshee Stadium in Srinagar, not far from Nowhatta. The attack was carried out while PM Narendra Modi delivered his speech at the Red Fort.
