Nagaland marching in path of development to achieve lofty goals: CM

Kohima Aug 15 (UNI) Nagaland Chief Minister T R Zeliang today said the people of the state, along with the rest of the country, are marching on the path of development and making every endeavour to achieve the lofty goals that all have set for themselves.
Unfurling the National tricolour at the Secretariat Plaza in Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Kohima on the occasion of 70th Independence Day this morning Mr Zeliang said in the years gone by, Nagaland has had several significant achievements in many spheres and he congratulated everyone who had been part of these developmental process. ''It was also a day to look back and see how far we have traveled and how good our achievement have been helping the country to reach the glorious heights that all promised ourselves at the dawn of Independence,'' he added.
Speaking on the Naga political issue, Mr Zeliang said the passing away of Isak Chishi Swu was an unfortunate incident, when political talks are going on with the Centre and it would be a befitting tribute to Late Swu, if the Naga political groups (rebels) can come together and support the negotiations between the Government of India and NSCN-IM following the signing of historic Framework Agreement on August 3, 2015. Mr Zeliang said time waits for none and an early political settlement is the urgent need for the interest of one and all. Mr Zeliang once again appealed to NSCN (Khaplang) to eschew the path of violence and returned to the Ceasefire Agreement with the Centre.
