HUBBALLI: The furore over the appointment of IAS officer Sham Bhatt as chairman of Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) is refusing to die down. On Friday, leader of the opposition in the state assembly, Jagadish Shettar opined that governor Vaju Bhai Vala ought to have rejected his name for the post.
Speaking to reporters here, the former chief minister said that the government should not have recommended Bhatt, against whom there are allegations of irregularities in the Arkavathy Layout denotification case, which is still under inquiry.

"Governor had sought clarification over Bhatt's appointment, after the government recommended his name twice. However, he did not review the clarification," said Shettar.
The senior BJP leader went on to add that the government had not taken note of the recoomendations made in his report for the appointment of KPSC chairman, by Justice Kumar.
