NEW DELHI: In his Independence Day speech on Monday, PM Narendra Modi today lauded India's humanity and said even the Baloch people in Pakistan have thanked him for his firm stand against terror and for highlighting attacks against them by people within Pakistan.
The PM also said that when children in Pakistan's Peshawar died in a 2014 terror attack, Indians cried.
"This is our nature, but look at the other side.
They glorify terrorists," he said, addressing the nation from the Red Fort.
Modi also slammed Pakistan today, without naming it, by saying it should look into its own backyard before interfering in other countries' business.
"People of Balochistan,Gilgit and PoK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir) have thanked me a lot in past few days, I am grateful to them," Modi said on Monday in his Indepedene day speech.
The PM was referring to his speech from two days ago when he slammed Pakistan for the atrocities againts the Baloch community there. Modi had said "the time has come when Pakistan shall have to answer to the world for the atrocities committed by it against people in Baluchistan and PoK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir)".

Modi talked at some length about the killing of children in a 2014 terror attack in Peshawar.
"In Parliament there were tears for all the innocents killed in Peshawar in the terror attack there by Pakistanis. Indian children were traumatized. This is the example of our humanity, but there are some countries who glorify terrorists," the PM said in his Independence Day speech on Monday.
India won't tolerate terrorists being glorified either, PM Modi said. The PM didn't mention terrorist Burhan Wani or Kashmir in his speech, but his references were more than evident.
This was a reference to Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif expressing "deep shock" over the killing of separatist Burhan Wani, and his criticism of the use of "excessive" force against civilians in the valley. Terrorist Hafiz Saeed also called the slain militant Wani a "martyr". And Pakistan on July 20 observed a 'black day' to 'condemn' the violence in Kashmir.
"This country will never bend before terrorism," PM Modi said.
