As a part of the run up to the celebrations of the 70{+t}{+h}Independence Day, schoolchildren were taken around the Indian Navy ships of the Eastern Naval Command.

Accompanied by 30 teachers, 820 schoolchildren, including boys and girls, were taken on a conducted tour of some of the frontline warships of the Indian Navy’s Eastern Fleet during the fortnight from August 1 to 14. The ENC organised the visit as part of ‘Know your Navy’ programme.

The visiting children were briefed by the Navy personnel about the capacities of the ships. They were shown the state-of-the-art vessels and equipment.

The students visited Rajput Class guided missile destroyer INS Ranvijay, indigenously built multi-role frigate incorporating stealth features INS Sahyadri and Khukri Class corvette INS Kuthar.
