Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) is not going to let Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump taunt her without a fight.

{mosads}“He thinks somehow, if he calls me names, that I’m gonna shut up,” Warren told a Boston CBS affiliate on Sunday. “And I think he’s got plenty of evidence now that that’s just not gonna happen, because that’s the way you gotta deal with bullies. You just stand up and punch back.”

Trump has often referred to Warren as “Pocahontas” on the campaign trail, alluding to the controversy about her heritage during her Senate campaign in 2012. Warren claimed she was told she had Cherokee ancestry, but that has yet to be proven.

Warren said she wasn’t surprised to see Trump resurface the controversy. The two have been at odds throughout the president campaign, often firing off tweets against one another.

“Donald Trump is out there on so many fronts stirring up as much hate as he can,” Warren said.
