Moore followed three consecutive 65s with a bogey-free 67 on Sunday at TPC Deere Run to finish on 22 under for the tournament and claim a fifth PGA Tour title.

Resuming one shot clear of the chasing pack, Moore posted a two-putt birdie at the second and drained a 25-footer at the fifth to extend his advantage.

Back-to-back gains around the turn briefly moved the 33-year-old five strokes ahead, only for Martin to close the gap with a hat-trick of birdies along the back nine.

Having reached the turn level-par, Martin nudged in from close range at the 12th and made further inroads over the next two holes to reduce the deficit to two.

After the pair exchanged three consecutive pars, Martin needed to birdie the last to put any kind of pressure on Moore but tentatively dragged his putt wide to sign for a 68.

Speaking on Sky Sports 4, Moore said: "I was trying to make birdies coming down the stretch but I couldn't get any putts to go. In the end though I snuck it out."
