AMMAN — Water distribution in several areas in Irbid was disrupted on Sunday when a truck hit a high-voltage pole powering the Zabada reservoir, a major water resource in the northern governorate, the Water Ministry said.
Some of the areas that have been especially affected by the outage are those neighbouring Alia Al Tal Mosque. Beit Ras Village and neighbouring areas, as well as the Badr area near Husun have also been hit hard, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Water Ministry Spokesperson Omar Salameh said that maintenance cadres from both the Irbid District Electricity Company and the Yarmouk Water Company are working “round-the-clock” to restore power to the Zabada reservoir and ensure it resumes normal service.
Salameh also asked for citizens’ understanding and cooperation under these “unforeseen circumstances”.
He added that the Water Authority of Jordan “is doing all it can” to provide the “best services complying with the highest standards” throughout the Kingdom, according to Petra.
