The Dodgers made a handful of roster moves ahead of Sunday’s action. The club placed pitchers Brandon McCarthy and Josh Ravin on the 15-day disabled list, activated starter Brett Anderson from the 60-day disabled list, and recalled pitcher Brock Stewart from Triple-A Oklahoma City, ESPN’s Doug Padilla reports. The club also designated utilityman Zack Walters for assignment. Padilla notes that starter Bud Norris is expected to come off of the DL and start against the Phillies on Thursday.

The injury roundup: McCarthy is dealing with stiffness in his right hip. Ravin has a strained right triceps. Norris has been dealing with a mid-back strain. Anderson has missed the entire season thus far recovering from back surgery. And, as luck would have it, he suffered a wrist injury in the first inning of Sunday’s start against the Pirates. He left the game and was replaced by Stewart.

This season, the Dodgers have used the fourth-most starting pitchers this season with 12, Corinne Landrey pointed out at FanGraphs. Anderson will make it 13 and Rich Hill will be 14. Still, Landrey explains, the rotation -- even without ace Clayton Kershaw -- has been elite, posting a 3.98 FIP and a 23.7 percent strikeout rate, the second-best mark in baseball.
