Man fires at wife in a fit of rage

Dehradun, August 14

An elderly man shot his wife in a fit of rage here today. The victim was admitted to a hospital and believed to be out of danger. The police have arrested the accused from his house. The man has been identified as Mahipal Sharma (70).

According to information, Mithlesh Sharma, a resident of Shiv Colony, Kanwali road, called the police control room that her father had fired two gun shots with a county made pistol at her mother in the house. The victim has been identified as Sunita (68). The complainant said her father did so over a petty issue.

Neighbours rushed the victim to the Doon Hospital. Seeing her condition, the medial officer referred her to a private hospital.

SSP Sadanand Datte said the police had arrested the accused and investigations in this regard were on. — TNS
