Cops to tighten noose on drug peddlers

DEHRADUN: SSP Sadanand Datte said it was the duty of everyone to create awareness among masses about ill effects of drugs and narcotic substances.

SSP Sadanand Datte said it was the duty of everyone to create awareness among masses about ill effects of drugs and narcotic substances. He said youths should come forward to start a drive against drug addiction. He was chairing a meeting with drug rehabilitation centres’ staff at the SSP office here today.

Datte expressed concern over the use of drugs and narcotic substance, cigarettes, liquor among teenagers and youths. He said parents should keep an eye on the activities of their children. Counseling and family support can get rid of the addiction, he said.

He said police officials had been strictly instructed to tighten noose around drug peddlers in the district. Cops had been told to keep an eye near education institutions to arrest drug peddlers. He assured gathering that no stone would be left unturned to break the nexus of drug peddlers in the city. SP City Ajay Singh and others were present.
