Haridwar, August 14

As part of drawing youths into its fold, the Army today organised a ‘Know Your Army’ fair at Panna Lal Bhalla Inter College.

This fair is being organised in Haridwar, Rishikesh and Raiwala to give youths a deeper insight into working of the Army.

The fair was conducted by Garud Artillery Brigade under the aegis of Garud Division-Surya Command.

Brigadier Sandeep Sood, Commander, Garud Artillery Brigade, while inaugurating the fair, said the main objective of the fair was to reach out to masses, particularly youths to motivate them by generating interest in the Army working.

“We are showcasing various artillery weapons, drills, war preparedness, Army personnel working, schedule, living standards and achievements. A large number of youths arrive to see the fair. Enquiries from them are being dealt by our officials and jawans and we are delighted to interact with youths,” said Sandeep Sood.

At the fair, equipment and Army band display was most sought after by youths.

“We have also set up information kiosks about the National Cadet Corps for schoolchildren, registration for recruitment as jawan and entries for other ranks during the fair,” added Brigadier Sood.
