A 16-year-old girl immolated herself after her father committed suicide over a man allegedly harassing her to get married, police said.
The girl, a Class X student, was admitted to PGI Rohtak for treatment where she died this morning.
She was being allegedly harassed by her classmate Amil, 19, who was also pressurising her family for getting her married to him.
The girl, a resident of Dharodi village, had set herself afire on August 10 after receiving information that her father allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison as he was worried about Amil pressurising them for the marriage, police said.
A case was registered against Amil, police said, adding he was arrested and sent to jail.
