Lt Anurag Thakur, Hamirpur MP and the BCCI president, today received a rousing welcome by Dr Rajiv Bindal during his visit to Nahan where he participated in a bike rally at Kolar as a part of the Tiranga Yatra being undertaken by him.

He was joined by hundreds of youth on bike and Nahan MLA Rajiv Bindal. He addressed a public meeting at Nahan where he had a dig at the Congress government in the state. He said the BCCI had constructed cricket stadiums across the state to encourage the youth, but the state government registered false cases against him.

He said various mafias were proliferating in the state and looting the state’s wealth. Honest officials were being transferred at the behest of politicians and the transfer of the Una Deputy Commissioner was the latest illustration of this mindset.

Addressing the gathering at the SFDA Hall at Nahan, he said the state government had cheated the unemployed youth by failing to give unemployment allowance. He said various sections of the society were suffering under the corrupt government in the state. He said the BJP would come back to power with a thumping majority as the people were fed up with the Congress government.

Thakur said the Centre had introduced 70 progressive initiatives for the common man, while the state government had failed to successfully implement various social-sector schemes.

With farmers under stress, unemployment at its peak, failed governance with no vision, the Congress government had led down the State, he said.

He said if the state government would give land, the BCCI could open a cricket academy at Nahan.

Thakur later addressed another public meeting at Renuka where he highlighted the corruption prevailing in the state and lauded the Modi government at the Centre.
